New Year 2011 - New Hopes

- It is 2011!
- Yeah, of course it is. So what?
- So, it is the new year....
- I know, is there any difference?

This was a part of the conversation I hard with one of our residents on the 1st January 2011. It is not that he is a resident at MSP that he doesn't see the meaning of celebrating the new year. I am sure that there is a big number of people who feel the same way and ask the same question: "the new year....so what?"

Sometimes it is necessary to take a break in life, look backward, do some reflections, see what has worked well, what didn't work well, and take some resolutions. What the best opportunity other than the 1st January? This is also an opportunity to say "Thank you" for every good gift received, an opportunity to meet as a family for a "getting together" party. I can say more, but you might have more good ideas than mine to convince our resident who couldn't see any meaning in celebrating the 1st January. New Year is "new hopes". This is the motto we took at MSP to help us focus on our services.

Happy New Year 2011 everyone. We wish every staff member a very blessed year.

Jean-Clement, RN, BSN
