Weekly upadates at MSP

After some times of celebration of the New Year, all the MSP staff is back to their routines. All services and teams are doing fine in their different programs.

On Tuesday we had our usual Eucharistic celebration for our residents and the staff presided by Fr Joseph Ekanza, the chaplain for the sick. This celebration is actively prepared and animated by our residents and the staff of the day with the help of the ergo-therapeutic team. Note that next month, on the 13th February, the MSP will host a celebration and a conference on the occasion of the “World Day for the Sick”. During this event, visitors, friends, and families are invited for an “open house day” during which gifts and ideas are shared. More on this program will be communicated in our upcoming updates.

The social service has started a wide sensitization among families who wishes to form support groups amidst the hospital. These groups will concern families whose patients are being followed at MSP. Meetings will be organized during which parents share experiences and support one another in their struggle while caring for their loved ones. MSP has committed itself to help and support parents in their fight against stigmatization. We are hoping for a positive outcome from this sensitization.

Some constructions and renovations are still going on in the hospital: a new consultation office and a nursing office. Since last year, we realized a need to have an extra office due to the increase in patients who need to be served in a timely approach. Having a second office will facilitate the work of our Psychiatric specialists who have been using one office; in addition, our clients (parents and their patients) will have to spend less time waiting to be received. We are hoping that by the end of the next month we will be using these new offices.

Since this last week the MSP has welcomed 2 new trainees who will be doing their internships for three months. These trainees have finished they studies in pharmacy and while waiting to be employed will benefit hands-on experience at our hospital. We wish them a successful and fruitful experience at MSP.

In the coming days we will be presenting on our blog video clips of different activities as run by our different services at MSP. Don’t miss this virtual visit of MSP.
